Draft law of 8 February 2018 approving<\/strong> the amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer,<\/strong> adopted in Kigali on 15 October 2016: text adopted was completed and submitted to Royal Assent. The amendment will come out in full effect.<\/p>\n

This amendment is a legally binding agreement creating rights and obligations in international law. It has the effect of gradually decreasing the substance that drains the ozone layer in order to put an end to this exhaustion and to avoid up to 0.5 \u00b0 C of warming by the end of the century.<\/p>\n

Parties implementing new technologies for the implementation of the amendment will have a competitive advantage in the global market.<\/p>\n

\u00a0With this amendment from Kigali, the Montreal Protocol assumes responsibility for Hydrofluorocarbons in order to achieve the goal of a sustainable ecological world in accordance with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n

Parties that accede to the amendment will have access to financial and technical assistance and other benefits.<\/p>\n
