Based on <strong data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"518\" data-is-only-node=\"\">scientific opinions from EFSA<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"547\">European Commission<\/strong> established <strong data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"579\">specific limits<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"608\">protect public health<\/strong> while reducing <strong data-start=\"624\" data-end=\"653\">chronic consumer exposure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"658\" data-end=\"721\"><strong data-start=\"658\" data-end=\"703\">Maximum levels applicable to fresh weight<\/strong> are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"722\" data-end=\"968\">\n<li data-start=\"722\" data-end=\"832\">\n<p data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"832\"><strong data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"732\">Fish<\/strong>: 0.10 mg\/kg for most species, 0.50 mg\/kg for <strong data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"830\">monkfish, haddock, herring, flatfish, ray, shark<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"893\">\n<p data-start=\"835\" data-end=\"893\"><strong data-start=\"835\" data-end=\"850\">Crustaceans<\/strong>: 0.10\u20131.5 mg\/kg depending on the species<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"894\" data-end=\"935\">\n<p data-start=\"896\" data-end=\"935\"><strong data-start=\"896\" data-end=\"916\">Bivalve molluscs<\/strong>: 0.10\u20130.50 mg\/kg<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"968\">\n<p data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"968\"><strong data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"953\">Cephalopods<\/strong>: 0.050 mg\/kg<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"970\" data-end=\"1164\">The <strong data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"1034\">limits account for dried, processed, or diluted products<\/strong>. Products <strong data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1109\">already legally placed on the market before entry into force<\/strong> may be sold until their <strong data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1161\">minimum durability date<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1166\" data-end=\"1359\">The <strong data-start=\"1170\" data-end=\"1184\">regulation<\/strong> is <strong data-start=\"1188\" data-end=\"1225\">mandatory and directly applicable<\/strong> in all Member States and <strong data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1331\">entered into force twenty days after its publication in the Official Journal<\/strong> on <strong data-start=\"1335\" data-end=\"1356\">18 September 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Commission Regulation (EU) 2025\/1891 of 17 September 2025 amends Regulation (EU) 2023\/915 regarding maximum levels of inorganic arsenic in fish and other seafood.
